The AmericAura print featured was created for an exhibition titled AmericAura that was curated by Terry Jenoure and Anne LaPrade Seuthe. The exhibition consisted of 50 works on paper exploring notions about progress and development in America and was presented at Augusta Savage Gallery and Hampden Gallery, University of Massachusetts Fine Arts Center, Fall 2007. The exhibition traveled to Doual'art Gallery, Douala, Cameroon, West Africa, and the National Library of Cameroon, Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa, in 2008.
The AmericAura print statement:
"America is a force promoting global capitalism. This impersonal system of creativity and growth embraces all lands as equal opportunity possibilities. Capitalism is ultimately secular, superficial, and driven by the variety of our collective desires and morals. For better and worse, it transforms the world into candy."
